Grand Final May 2010
The Snobster Does It!

Lee Hook Grand Final Winner.
A great day was had by all in Cardiff at the Les Croupiers Casino on our Grand Final day.
With the sun beating down outside, and in the nicely air-
There were 66 of the possible 70 qualifiers taking part, the bubble players from the previous weekend games managed to take part as reserves.
The start stack was 10,000 chips with 30 minute blinds starting at 50/100.
It wasn’t until half way through the second level of blinds (75/150) that the first player departed from the game, Peter ‘Darth Cymru’ Perry from the Royal Arms pub, better luck next time Peter.
The tournament play was very tight and it was after the usual tales of bad beats and great calls that we got to the final table at around 9.30pm.
The unlucky player to go on the bubble was Cara Gates, it had been a battle between Cara & Richard Harries to see who was going in ninth place. We hear that 5/2 off suit is now Richards favourite hand!
Our final eight were: Rob Cooper, Richard Harries, Khalid Yunus, Lee Hook, Jay Smith, Powy, Montomery Clarke, & Stuart Wheadon.
With the blinds on 20,000/40,000 the tournament wasn’t going to take long to finish.
First to go was Khalid Yunus in 8th -
7th place and a cheque for £150 went to Montgomery Clarke, not bad for someone who qualified through a satellite game and has only played in the league 4 times.
Stuart Wheadon was 6th also picking up £150.
Rob Cooper left in 5th place, £150 better off.
Jay Smith was 4th and picked up the last £150 cheque.
Our one time chip leader Powy ‘The Iceman’ was the lucky winner of a holiday for two to Tenerife for finishing in 3rd place.
That left the heads-
The flop came down Q/K/6 leaving Richard needing to hit a 10 or runner, runner straight. The turn was another 6 and the river was a 5.
Richard Harries.
That left Richard as runner-
Well done both players and everyone else who took part in all of the qualifying tournaments as well as the final.
We would also like to thank everyone at Les Croupiers, especially the dealers, for staging such a great Grand Final. We are looking forward to the next tournament already.
