How to qualify.

The season comprises of three 8 week qualification periods.

The top two from the venue leader board at the end of each 8 week period automatically qualifies for the play-off's. All points will then be reset to zero for the next 8 week period.

The final week of each 8 week period will be a satellite week, all winners of tournaments during this week will also qualify for the play-off's. The top two from the overall venue winners table, at the end of the season, will qualify for the play-off's even if they have not made it through the above. There will be no drop-down in the venue leader boards, all results will stand.

The play-off's are normally held over two days with the qualifiers from the venues playing to make it to the Grand Final. Each play-off tournament will be played until a specified number of players is reached, this will be a percentage based on amount taking part in the game and will be announced on the day. Once the figure is reached the tournament finishes, chips are not carried over to the Grand Final.

The top ten players from the National Leader board qualify directly to the Grand Final.

Please note: A venue must hold a minimum of 6 from the possible 8 games in the qualifying period for the results to count, this does not apply to players (if enough points are won in two or three games this would count for qualification). The minimum number of players for a tournament to run is 4.
A venue also has to be running at the end of the season for a player to be awarded the venue winners prize. All results must be submitted within a week of any game played, the Wales Poker League cannot accept any responsibility for results not received within these timescales.
